Table X Chair - Wood 2019
Objective: Experimenting wood prototyping and processing with ( Existing Design ) chair that fold into a table then further developed to add Resin into wood with random shapes.
Location: Product design Fab lab - Effat University
Design inspiration
The Chair was designed and measured to average body measurement for comfort.
The Wood was cut into strips and assembled with one rod and screws.
Resin Inspiration
The Wood strips was then cut with a router creating random shapes for resin addition into the design.
The sales were not cut through all wood but then was modified to through all wood thickness for the resin to be clear and let light pass through it.
Wood was painted with darker shade to experiment with wood colors and painting (Matte)
The Wooden strips were glues using a gun glue wax on one side for the resin not to spill from one side as it is routed to the end of the wood thickness.
